This Onion makes me cry

Usually articles over at The Onion make me laugh, but this one just made me sad for America.
I made $5.15 an hour at Sea World of Ohio in the summer of 1997, right after the last rate increase. I was in college then and I knew the money sucked. I can't even imagine trying to support a family on one or two minimum wage jobs. I'm happy about the mandated increase.... and I hope, for the sake of many people, that increases will continue to occur after it reaches $7.25 in July of 2009.
I generally try to stay out of politics. Leave it to the Onion (and the Daily Show) to keep me interested and/or saddened.
